reMarkable has started distributing a substantial software update for its E Ink tablet lineup. The release adds a new capture tool, four extra pen colors, cloud image imports, and a redesigned EPUB reading interface. Devices began receiving the update on September 4, 2026. Users can download it through the normal system update area and apply it whenever their tablet is ready.

Key additions in this release

• Capture tool: Circle or draw any freeform shape around content on the screen to copy it as an image.
• Pen colors: Green, yellow, cyan, and magenta join the existing stylus palette.
• Cloud image import: JPG and PNG files can be pulled from Dropbox, Google Drive, or OneDrive.
