With the goal of developing India as a global entertainment hub, Prime Minister Narendra Modi chaired the WAVES (World Audio Visual Entertainment Summit) Advisory Board meeting. Industry leaders and experts from across India and the world participated in this meeting. Under the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, WAVES 2025 will be held from February 5 to 9. The “Create in India Challenge – Season 1” will be launched to promote entertainment, creativity, and culture. This will be a major attraction at the International Film Festival of India (IFFI) to be held in Goa in November.

Rahman participated. Additionally, Prime Minister Modi had discussions with business leaders like Mukesh Ambani, Satya Nadella, and Anand Mahindra. In December 2024, Modi announced the launch of the World Audio Visual Entertainment Summit (WAVES). This will be a crucial step towards making the country a “content creation hub.” The WAVES summit will also introduce the Animation Filmmakers Competition (AFC), which will offer a global platform for talented creativity in animation, VFX, AR-VR fields.
